Marine Boats Industry to reduce Petroleum-Based Plastics in Outboard Motor Packaging
By Combining Biodegradable Green Planet™ Shipping Material With Specially Shaped Corrugated Cardboard, Evinrude, Honda, Mercury, Suzuki Tohatsu, Torqeedo, Yamaha Outboards Will Be Protected While Protecting The Environment.
Marine Outboard Motor SG announced today that outboard motors will soon arrive from Evinrude, Honda, Mercury, Suzuki Tohatsu, Torqeedo, Yamaha Motor Company in specialized packaging developed to significantly reduce overall waste and the use of petroleum-based plastics.
This will be achieved through two important changes: First, Outboard Motor is replacing traditional polystyrene foam packing material with Green Planet™, a biodegradable polymer developed by Kaneka Corporation that is easily decomposable in seawater and is made from 100-percent biomass-derived polymers.

The Mercury 8hp model 8MLH outboard is ideal for long shaft Jon boats, skiffs, and small pontoons as well as sailboat and trolling/kicker applications. This 84 lb. Mercury 8 HP Outboard engine is lightweight and yet the powerful twin-cylinder four-stroke offers smooth, quiet, fuel efficient operation. The multi-function tiller handle provides one-hand operation of F-N-R gear shifting, throttle and throttle tension, steering, and stopping. Mercury's patented auto-ratchet system allows the user to easily adjust tilt and trim angle. The Mercury 8 HP Outboard Motor model: 8MLH is equipped with manual start and a 20 inch long shaft.
