Marine Boats Industry to reduce Petroleum-Based Plastics in Outboard Motor Packaging

By Combining Biodegradable Green Planet™ Shipping Material With Specially Shaped Corrugated Cardboard, Evinrude, Honda, Mercury, Suzuki Tohatsu, Torqeedo, Yamaha Outboards Will Be Protected While Protecting The Environment.

Marine Outboard Motor SG announced today that outboard motors will soon arrive from Evinrude, Honda, Mercury, Suzuki Tohatsu, Torqeedo, Yamaha Motor Company in specialized packaging developed to significantly reduce overall waste and the use of petroleum-based plastics.

This will be achieved through two important changes: First, Outboard Motor is replacing traditional polystyrene foam packing material with Green Planet™, a biodegradable polymer developed by Kaneka Corporation that is easily decomposable in seawater and is made from 100-percent biomass-derived polymers.

Its unique deck design maximizes space, designed to comfortably seat people at the rear and many more in the bow area while optimizing boat stability and promoting efficient weight distribution. The AB Jet XP Series has a completely open deck free of obstacles ensuring easy mobility and a comfortable walkway.
