Marine Boats Industry to reduce Petroleum-Based Plastics in Outboard Motor Packaging
By Combining Biodegradable Green Planet™ Shipping Material With Specially Shaped Corrugated Cardboard, Evinrude, Honda, Mercury, Suzuki Tohatsu, Torqeedo, Yamaha Outboards Will Be Protected While Protecting The Environment.
Marine Outboard Motor SG announced today that outboard motors will soon arrive from Evinrude, Honda, Mercury, Suzuki Tohatsu, Torqeedo, Yamaha Motor Company in specialized packaging developed to significantly reduce overall waste and the use of petroleum-based plastics.
This will be achieved through two important changes: First, Outboard Motor is replacing traditional polystyrene foam packing material with Green Planet™, a biodegradable polymer developed by Kaneka Corporation that is easily decomposable in seawater and is made from 100-percent biomass-derived polymers.

The Tohatsu 8 HP Outboard Motor model MFS8CS is a two cylinder, 4 stroke outboard motor which comes equipped with the 15 inch long shaft, tiller steering, and manual pull rope start. At 85 lbs the motor is easily portable. Tohatsu motors are known for being quiet and gas frugal. This Tohatsu electronic fuel injected, water cooled outboard comes with a 3.1 gallon external fuel tank and a factory 5 year warranty.
